  • Safe & Easy to Use – No flames, family-friendly, and simple operation for all users, including kids and first-time boaters.
  • Superior Visibility – Bright 360° light, visible over 8 miles, and exceeds RTCM operational life requirements by 50%.
  • Waterproof & Buoyant – Automatically rights itself and floats without a flotation ring.
  • Durable design: Tested to applicable environmental performance standards related to dry heat, damp heat, low temperature, thermal shock, drop, vibration, solar radiation, rain & spray, corrosion, and EMC (as per IEC 60945)

As the next advancement in electronic distress flares, the EDF2 Electronic Boat Flare introduces cutting edge SOS distress signaling technology. Utilizing red-orange and cyan LEDs combined with an infrared (IR) component, the EDF2 offers substantial operational life (burn time) while also significantly improving the level of visibility.

Sold with the included daytime distress flag, the EDF2 and accompanying flag are certified to meet the applicable U.S. Coast Guard requirements allowing them to be carried in lieu of traditional pyrotechnic flares in the U.S.
